Here's a sketch to tide y'all over...

Who Is He?

I've been trying to come up with a backstory and some ingenuous tortures for this bodybuilder, but haven't come up with much besides him being a 6'2, 235lb bodybuilder. So, here's the deal: you commenters get to name him, come up with a backstory (age, etc.), and suggest future drawings of this stud in danger and pain. Tell me what you want me to do with him.

Finished!

It's Coming Along...

It's getting there...but I swear, getting the legs right has been one serious pain in the ass...no pun intended. ;-)

A Jotto-Inspired Sketch

A few days ago, Jotto sent me a copy of this drawing. I thought, "Hmmm...maybe I can do something inspired/based on this." So far, this is what I've sketched:

I'm thinking about doing another sketch from another angle...we'll see...

Another Kalabro/Jotto Joint Production

All I have to say is that I really, REALLY love the way Jotto brings a piece of art to life with his coloring.

Finally!

Finally--I finished the drawing that I had sketched...two months ago.

A Little Vampire Action

Here's a work in progress that's heavily influenced by the HBO show "True Blood."

A Work In Progress

The only thing about drawing that I hate is that the image on paper only occasionally reflects the image in my head.

Eventually, I'll tire of this Tarzan/Jungle Stud theme...but not yet! Right now, my imagination is fixed on scruffy/lightly bearded muscular guys. Something about the combination of facial hair and baby faces just turns me on.

Four Sketches

When I did these sketches, I hadn't thought of them fitting into a rough narrative, but I guess they sort of do. Sort of. I think I'm far to ADD to think of doing sequential comic art--I've tried and I usually get bored. I'll likely come back with more sketches that fill in the "gaps".

Tarzan in Color

Hat tip to "hotcha" who took this piece and colored it. Which do you prefer? Me, I like 'em all.

Propellers and Peril

And now, for something a little different...
A couple of weeks ago, I started watching "Harper's Island" on CBS. This is supposed to be a one-shot, 13 week murder mystery. The first murder was that of a young lad strapped to the bottom of a boat's propeller (hence, the title of the first episode being "Whap")...as you can see, that got my juices flowing. I realized that it's not really finished though.

A Jungle Boy's Hanging

Another sketch that I can't quite seem to finish. If you note, the left leg went through a LOT of revisions. And the right foot was going to be precariously positioned on a rickety table or stool. Oh, well.

The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves...

You wouldn't believe how many tries it took before this sketch finally took shape.

Tarzan Beaten

Sometimes, when I do a sketch, it looks so good that a finished drawing would wind up looking like a cheap imitation. So, here I post a sketch of Tarzan being beaten by two massive (and unseen) assailants. I also did two other sketches following up on this, but they didn't really look good or have the energy of this drawing. Sometimes, it all comes together, sometimes, it doesn't.

Tarzan Chained

I think Tarzan's a favorite subject for the gay BDSM artist. After all, it's as though he was created to be a bondage fetish. Read any of Edgar Rice Burrough's novels--not a one goes by without Tarzan being tied up or fighting someone or something bigger than him. And, it goes without saying, ERB's description of him helps A LOT. A hot, muscular man in a skimpy loincloth going around fighting and getting tied up. The porn nearly writes (or, in this case, draws) itself.

Time Keeps on Slipping...

Seriously, I didn't expect to take so much time updating this blog. But stuff happens, and I'm lazy, so, before I knew it, it was 2009. Sorry about that! I'm getting used to a new computer and using GIMP instead of Photoshop, so there probably won't be any colored art for a while. In the meantime, enjoy!
